Flying In

Landing in Cairo

Picture of Landing in Cairo

The following information is for Terminal 3, please read as it could still be relevant to help you out!

- Make sure you fly with a pen. You’ll need to fill in cards upon landing. If you are flying EgyptAir, they will give you this card on the flight.

- For the most part (9/10) you'll need the pink card but double-check the title and ensure you are filling in the foreigners' card. If you fill in the wrong one, the officer will make you do it again.

- Cards are found in the middle on a green counter before you go to passport control.

- If you are getting a Visa on arrival, you have to go to the bank first before passport control. You will need 25 USD Cash. I recommend you obtain an e-Visa from here https://visa2egypt.gov.eg to make your life easy.

- After passport control, you will need to show your passport again so keep it on you.

- Collect your bags yourself don’t let anyone help you. If you do, you have to pay them.

- There are phone booths around next to the luggage belts you can get a SIM card there if you don’t have a roaming plan or an e-SIM.

- After you collect your bags, you'll make your way through customs.

- Then, you'll be out and in the pickup area of the airport.

- Make your way to the far left door (No. 4) that’s the smoothest way out. Ignore all the people calling at you for taxis.

- If I’m (Mariam) picking you up don’t leave the airport door until you see my face in front of gate No. 4. If you walk out, they won’t let you back in.

- If you are not getting picked up by me, please use the trusted airport shuttle company that my family deals with. Their image is pasted below. You can also call their number to pre-book a shuttle for you to wherever you are staying.
